Do you ever get any nice planking grade Chestnut? I'd like to get some this winter, but there is nothing of any quality up here. All ring shaken to hell.

I looked at job recently where the previous contractor gave up winching s.c butts off a hillside because the firewood boys don't want it; it's s/cnut and massive = zero value. Nor do I want it but there are some almighty full length sticks there (2 years now) just going back to the soil I guess... 5' butts and over 40' long.

Cornwall to Northamptonshire, then Northamptonshire to up here. Surprisingly cheap to get timber cut there, hence the economy of it all.

TCD

If the job comes off I might be able to back load the timber lorry with Hardwood from Northampton area. If everything goes to plan!!!

Help; the heat has made me go extra-thick! Are the two above related and if so do you mean put a load on the lorry from nhtn back to devon?

It's now't to do with the heat!:001_tt2:

I think he means he is going to Devon loaded and going back to Northampton empty! Unless he can cart your timber as a going "back load".
