You will get many different opinions on this, Stihl, Oregon, full-chisel, semi-chisel and so on.

 

Fundamentally, so long as your chain is sharp and kept sharp it should cut it.

 

Sensible answer .

Got Stihl 660 - 30in bar standard chain ,have got a dead oak been down but off the ground for 18 months and it is as hard as iron ,going to log and ring up .

Any recomodations for a good chain. Thanks

 

HI MATE we had some oak here down for 10 years it hard yes but the stihl chain is good just make sure it clean mate no mud on on it thanks jon :thumbup:
