Best books

Can any one advise me, I'm fairly new into the arb game! I'm after a book about all round tree care, pruning, growth, disease fungi and also tree I'd! I guess I will be lucky to get a book tha does everything but just after some extra knowledge it all!

All round tree care/pruning, growth try bs3998, Mathecks vta handbook or Stupsi explains the tree. If you need the basics first any biology book (gcse or a level style) will give an ides of how trees/plants obtain nutrients and grow/function.

 

Disease, fungi and tree id try Lonsdales principles of tree hazard assessment and management (maybe a bit heavy, but a very good book); for id the arbtalk fungi app is geared more toward trees than any other fungi guide. The AA Arborists guide to fungi is also supposed to be very good. For general tree or fungi id the Collins guides (not the newest version, get the previous with photos rather than drawings) are fantastic.

Thanks for the replies! I am trying to learn on the job but just want to learn everything I can. I appreciate their isn't a book for everything but tree their uses and Managent sounds like what I am after just ordered Collins tree ident too, thanks for the help people
