Josh; here is an 8 wheeler with 3 bays.

 

3 bays of 2.2m larch. The bays are 2.3m wide and stacked up as high as the headboard is 2.4m.

 

So 2.2 x 2.3 x 2.4 = 12.14m3 per bay total space...

 

x 3 bays = 36.4m3

 

x 0.7 for softwood (standard calculation for s/wood from FC blue book) =

 

25.5m3.

 

Artic has 4 bays but doesn't go as high as 2.4m on the pins so has often taken 30-32m3. Of course if the wood is heavy the volume is restricted by the weight...

Yes exactly as in that photo, larch and douglas... PM for more info, kingsbridge easy peasy, wood is not far from you anyway.

Hi Treebus,

 

When I've been payed by the m3 stack measurement it's been lenghtxwidthxheight x .55. That's was on beech thinnings and ash clear fell if that helps.
