Husky 365

Hi all, Bonsoir,

Here in France saws are expensive, typically 1.25 times more than UK as the £ - € rate is currently pretty dismal.

However, I have an opportunity to buy a Husky 365 with 20 inch bar from a very reputable dealer with a 2 year warranty for around £520 comparable price to UK dealers, I think.

I will use this for cutting firewood, mainly oak which is demanding to cut. My MS250 is great for about 10-14 inches diameter, but for the fatter stuff I feel the need for something with a bit more grunt. Perhaps a bit of a man thing as every one seems to have 'a collection' (!)

So the question is, with a Yes/No - is it worth it? its about what I was planning to spend on a larger saw & anything larger would be OTT - I think.

if its a No, I could wait for a UK shopping visit.

Thanks in advance

N

The 365 shares many parts and has the same bottom end as the 372XP and is a solid workhorse that will ring up decent size timber all day. It also shares parts with a few Jonsereds such as the 2065 and 2171 so in short, solid workhorse - not a racer but still a good and well liked saw.

Thanks,

I did have a look at that link & price pretty well the same, I thought it was a 65cc saw but FR Jones states 70.7 cc although it may have been revised with slightly larger engine

If it is new, and an 'x-torque' model, that is a good price for a work horse of a 70cc saw.

Almost forgot to add -

If it is an older 365 special model, the price is a bit high, but it is still a good saw for forestry. They take the 372 top end, and can be made to run very strong when rebuilt/ported.

Run a 365 as my main ground saw, tried and tested, rugged, loads of power and cheap, had one for years when i first started i was running a 24" for all takedowns/ringing up and a 18' for everyday use, till it was stolen. dont think you can beat this saw for the money and with an 18' bar is well balanced. Have had my recent one for 12 months trouble free other than bolt running loose from choke. Will cut fiewood on sawhorse all day!!!
