My Freelander 1

Just had the clutch slave cylinder seal replaced on our Freelander II. Would have cost 90p on my old series 3. Cost £1k for a freelander. Engine out and split to get at the clutch slave cylinder - not impressed!

Wifey had 03 plate 1.8 petrol Freelander from it being 6 months old to just last year. Head Gasket went 3 times in 75000 miles. including the all new replacement gasket which was supposed to cure the problem. We loved ours but mechanically it was crap ! I think the TD4 is Better ! It would only pull one little oss in a little oss box. She now has a 90 which pulls two big osses in a big oss box.

My other half has had a 2004 freelander td4 auto 5dr for the last 18 months/20,000 miles without an issue. It's not the fastest thing in the world but was decent enough in the snow and handles the bridle way we live down without a problem. I've just listed it tonight on ebay due to the arrival of a company car but I would have no second thoughts about getting in it tomorrow and driving 500 miles. It's never going to tow the biggest trailer but would have no problem with a timberwolf 150 chipper.

It would tow your QuadChip too!

I regularly towed a 1928 which is best part of 1.5 tonnes with ease.

It certainly would if it had a tow ball on however I find the blue of the gaylander clashes with the green and black of the quadchip so I will stick to towing with the colour coded transit for now

Blue and green should never be seen without a colour inbetween
