I'll be shortly taking on my younger brother full time as he is leaving school soon.. I'd like to put him through his basic saw tickets (CS30/31) before he comes up to the Highlands and also so that he can start his CPD on a good footstone.

Can anyone tell me, what is the minimum age to go through a NPTC chainsaw certificate?

And are there any trainers and assessors based in the Bury St Edmunds area, Suffolk ???

And could you put a lad through a course before July?

Cheers

Matt

I'm hoping Arbocop will be able to help me out here.

Have looked it up, it's deffinatley 16.

Planning to get him through his tickets and then straight into a first thinning for a good couple of months or so to learn properly!!

the minimum age is 16 provided he has the maturity and physical ability to complete the course safely, this however is at the instructors discression.
