Pros and Cons of Botex trailer

Just remembered another con - you have to watch the dowl pins don't come loose, particularly on the grapple. I've replaced a few on mine with the heavy duty swiss roll type, these seem to stay put better.

Someone I know broke the axle on his trailer but then he does a lot of road work behind a Fastrac moving big timber.

Otherwise enjoying the Botex love in!

Did the extending bunks add massive cost as that looks a great addition. The 570 extender ram is bloody long and exposed also the pipes look precarious

I think about 1500 quid. It's only a pin and some bolts that hold it on. Easy to extend not so easy to contract it. Only thing to watch out for is extending too much and breaking the light cable.

As vulnerable as the 570 is i wouldn't want the 560 that extra 1m length is vital to me. Always running out of reach on the 6m one and only a few times on the 7m.

I see your large lumps and give you this 8 tonne monster. Didn't go on or off with the crane though. Was pushed on with a really big volvo loading shovel.

This picture gives a better idea, to be fair I don't think that was one of the biggest of the lime butts.

Plus my crane is a 570 so has a slightly lower capacity but greater reach.

The second picture is mixed product from a recent softwood extraction.

did it really handle that hung up tree woodED ?

It picked it up okay but that tree was in there like a sod, (it was for a cs32 coarse) we had to rip it side to side with the tractor in the end

Never seen the highland bear in action it's gathering dust in our yard, I've see it load big oak, just has to be done one end at a time
