What's the set up for Vat and firewood, buying standing timber and processing into split firewood sold to domestic and commercial markets?

Cheers Brett

i was told from a good source on friday that selling firewood to the domestic market should be charged at 5 %, i am going to double check with customs:001_smile:

I was looking on the hmrc website, as far as i could make out timber you buy will be 15% VAT and selling to public for domestic use is 5%, but if you sell it to someone who is going to resale it, ie to a garage bagged, the vat is then 15%, i am going to phone hmrc to double check this though.

Just a wee extra point. If you charge delivery for firewood, this has to be at 15% vat. HMRC kindly pointed this out to us after we had been charging 5% on the full invoice inc. delivery. Two years to notice:scared1: oops! K
