Stihl. The hs85, quiet, and good to handle. With the cutter head rather than trimming head they seem to take a good thick bit aswell.

Plus with the movable rear handle they are always comfy.

Bad points. Small fuel tank. But then after a short while its nice to have a break and refuel anyway.

And the new stihl policy aswell. But worth it.

I don't like the husky as had one in fro repair and thought the build was rubbish on it.

Can't comment on the echo ones as never used them.

Only herd good things about echo hedge trimmers, I have used a stihl hs81r a fair bit and like it, husky make good hedge trimmers too, the bit that will make the difference is what dealer you have around your area

Do echo make a long reach cutter with angle adjustable head? If so what model please, I would like to check them out.

Yes the do I have one they dont seem to flex as much a the stihl ones and are well balanced. I brought a lightly used one 2 years ago with no problems so far.

Got the old Echo HCA-2400 with articulating head and I love it. It just works! Smooth, light and very high end steel in the cutters. Would get the current version without hesitation altho I like the foam handle on the shaft rather than the loop handle; think you can get both.

Got Kawasaki and tanaka at the mo, the Kawasaki is more reliable nicer to handle and has a better cut then the tanaka, the tan aka isn't bad it keeps plodding on but not sure I'd buy another. If I was buying now it would be a toss up between echo and kasawaki- whichever was the best deal I guess. The new echo seems to be very good but the older models I used to use seemed to have Carb problems regularly so I guess that's slightly tarnished my opinion of them, seems that's all been ironed out with new models tho.
