not so good start to the day

just broke the main leaf spring on the chipper this morning lucky got a jack and wedge a log in and got it home and it happen on a smooth road not pot hole in sight well thats the chipper out of action for a week or so

dropped off the broken spring to a place that makes new ones should have a brand new one made in 10 to 14 days but a kind friend i subbed for have offered to lend me his bearcat on the days his not using it so should tie me over with out effecting my work load

Thats pretty bad luck, I broke a leaf spring on my trusty trailer last week, luckily it was over the farm empty and not with soil or brash in!

 

New set ordered yesterday, fitted tonight in 2 hours - both sides with new bolts.

 

Makes you think what if a lot more, more frequent inspections required i think.

must have been a day for it today! i lost (nearly) the wheel off my timberwolf 125 today! the wheel bearings collapsed. luckly my team where in the van following and spotted it on rhe way to todays job. we where able to trailer it home after finishing the job.

 

Yeah it happens, grease the bearings periodically, cost me a petty penny once when I was miles from home!
