stihl ht 75 not oiling?

Do you mean you have a chainsaw head on it that's not oiling?

Has it had bio oil in it, gums up the works of left too long

First clean the bar and run it without a bar on and see if oil is coming out the hole.

 

If not empty the tank and wash out with fuel. Then refill and try again.

 

If not then it needs a strip down and the pipes cleaning out. The pumps on these are very prone to failing. I've had a few fail. The pump is easy to remove and need a bolt to fit into the back of the pump and pulls out.

hi cheers lads!! ive took bar off and clean it out, took the oil tank off and the little black filter was covered in crap! thought result just that blocked so cleaned it all out and ran it but still nothing now this is whats throwing me off as the couple of cm groove that lines up with the oil hole on the bar is bone dry but there is a smaller hole above it an oil comes out of that real slow but it is piontless as it lines up with nothing at all on the bar?? hope that makes sense lol ill go get a pic now

Yes please get a pic. From memory I can't think what bit you mean. Chances are if its all full of crap then it needs a strip and clean out. You can rotate the pump backwards once out while giving it a blast of cleaner.

 

With the pipe off also blow back down pipe with the tank cap off so you clean the filter out with backwards pressure.

sorry i got it wrong lol the oil is coming out of the round hole not the groove that lines up with the bar!!! but its only seeping out and is no where fast enough to keep with the speed of the chain!!!

 

bit miffed as i brought few weeks back off ebay and apart from this it runs amazing but cant use it tomorrow on the job i mainly brought it for......

Ok. You will need to strip it down. There may be a pipe off behind it. So its not sending oil to the groove but to the hole instead. They are relatively easy to dismantle, just a case of doing it systematicly.

 

I would strip it and inspect the pipes and pump. At the end of the day you ar not likely to destroy anything if you do it carefully and thoughtfully.

 

Just work form behind all the time and keep thinking you are only trying to remove the tank.
