Just been informed that I am starting direct stem injection of knotweed in the neer future and that my PA6 is the only cert required. Is this correct?

Any suggestions ??

Yeah.. As its normally in sealed units that give correct dose through needle , you don't need pa1 as not mixing

You can't have pa6 without pa1 as its the foundation module for all other units. You will be mixing and doing minimal calibration

You cannot get PA6 without PA1. PA1 is the module that covers handling of pesticides, PPE, duty of care, record keeping etc, etc.

While on the subject of splitting hairs of course:001_rolleyes:

EDIT; I wonder if anyone knows if PA2 would cover direct stem injection?:confused1:

No, PA2 wouldn't cover it, PA6 reads on my cert, atomised sprayers and application with minimal calibration (stump painting in other words)

So if the packs that we use come in sealed units and every time you pull the trigger on the gun the correct amount is injected? never get to mix chemical or pour it...

Same as eco plugs? what pesticides cert do you need to use these ? as no mixing or calibrating???

PA1 PA6 if you are using it in a public place and being paid to do the job. but you would not get the stuff or gun without showing your certificates or giving number over phone. joe public would not get it. well not from a good suplier

I'd be interested to know how sealed units control the application.

Surely you need more chemical in a bigger stem:confused1:

Similarly can't understand how you can have PA6 without PA1 unless maybe you were taught using ULV- even then dosage and legislation???
