Is the chin strap avaliable for the previous model??? my gaffer was one of the first to buy one when they came out and was dissapointed when he found out he couldnt use it in the tree.

Hi Coleman...the helmet your friend has is the Protos Forest (EN397) and the chin strap for this isn't yet available. Protos Arborist comes complete with the EN12492 chin strap.

Taffupatree...Protos Arborist will be retailing at £183 ex VAT

In true Pfanner style, Protos have taken their products to a new level of safety and comfort and Protos Arborist will feature the innovative Koroyd engineered protection taking Protos Arborist way beyond the EN12492 certification requirements. Please take a look at this link to find out more:

Very much looking forward to meeting some Arbtalkers at the show and demonstrating Protos. :)

They do look like good helmets but £183 + vat does make me shudder a bit.

You must see it first hand Hazzygawa - Protos is a completely new concept in head protection. Hopefully see you at the show and you can try it on and we can explain all the safety and comfort features to you :)

Paul, Yes, helmets are zero VAT rated if purchased by an individual for their own personal use. VAT applies if the purchase is by an employer for their employees.

After trying on the Forest, I've definitely put the Arborist high on my list of wants.

Not going to the show :-( but will order one afterwards. Put a red and grey one aside for me Yve, please.
