What pays the bills for you?

My bread and butter is garden maintenance, over heads are low when weeding and digging, not much higher for mowing etc.

 

Profit comes on tree work and landscaping etc.

 

I work with a compressed spine and very occasional (touch wood) sciatica, long term compression injury not through an incident, therefore variety of my work is superb. I love the challenge of tree climbing and dismantling etc but couldn't do it all the time, and nor could I face weeding gardens everyday.

 

Its a happy balance, I work to live and not live to work.

I've had to get the joinery tools out the past few months but only at weekends to help out an old friend. But it's good to remind yourself I can still do it

On the joinery front, this week ive been making use of naff wet days by getting on with the workshop. As above, good to use old skills

The last few months have been very busy with work, and I'd currently love to be able to find the time to play with wood.

 

This is how I spend every day, the current job shown first, and then the two previous to that.

In the last picture I can't quite make out but is a mixture of oak and treated timber?

I have to drive a 1952 Bentley for the ascot races every year for one regular ,regular trips in pick up to lots rd auctions in Chelsea for furniture , odd school run , decorating when it's tipping down. How's that for starters.
