One of the boys that used to work for me had a problem with the brake on his 550. He got it replaced under warranty after the second time it had to go into the workshop. It was replaced very easily, so might be a known problem to Husky.

Yes it is a fault on the 550/60 I had 4 on mine, take it back to the dealer and they will fit the modified chainbrake.

It is/was a problem but I think there is a modded one . Never broken the band on my 2011 560 but then I rarely use the brake ....

They're hardly likely to highlight bad design and or manufacture with their products.

 

As far as I can gather, (reading through various posts, here on Arbtalk and various other sources) it should be of no great surprise, if on owning either a Husky 550XP or 560XP, one had to replace more than the occasional chain brake.

 

Though the basics of the 550XP are there in the 545, the latter does not seem to share the same mechanical misfortune.
