Im in the same positions off needing a 2nd reliable topper and was hoping the 540 would be out by now but having had the battery saw on demo for a week or so im planning on ebaying the old 200t and putting the money towards one and keeping my good 200t in good nick for dismantling or bigger cuts.

How I wish husqvarna could sell you a saw that met all regulations but then offered a after market "super chip" to turn it into the saw we all want and bypass all this eu B S!

All this emissions stuff is dreadful! I don't think arborist polluting the planet is a huge worry lol. Think it's all about getting big power out of little saws hence the 560 auto tune, 60 cc saw banging out more power and pick up than 70cc saws! Think it was a demo saw we got it was of a local husqvarna rep, we looked at the dates on the plastics and they was a few years old :-/. I've always had stihl climbing saws but if this huskys anything like what I used il hammer my 200 till it comes out lol.

I was at the local saw shop yesterday and word has it nothing happening before September now!

I think on the back of this, a wee 150 has gone onto the shopping list for a couple of weeks time.

I think having a wee one in the saw box for pruning jobs will hopefully prolong the life of the 200s. Lets just hope the 540 comes along this decade sometime as I may end up retired before its in production at this rate! Lol!

Agree, the emissions need leaving alone for a bit now, the obssesion of setting targets has gone far enough.

I realised the other day, my earlyMK5 1991 model ford escort van used to do 55mpg whereas the last version built out the same 1.8 block I struggle to get 41mgg. Admittedly the old one didn't have power sapping assisted steering, but that never bothered me. So Im burning more to save on emissions. Likewise with the adblue situation, again burn more to clean it, then who would of ever dreamt of putting the earth precious elements in a exhaust system(cat) palladium, platinum, etc.

Sorry for the derail but I find it stupid that it has to affect power tools to the degree it does. As progress on research is biasedly spent.

I'm sorry but the 201 was as with all newer saws now, made to meet the emissions regulations as are all cars and anything with an engine now. It's not stihls fault blame the EU.

.

So how come Husky were able to make the 550 and 560 so much more poweful than the saws they replaced?

Of course the 201 was released to replace the 200 - why on earth would it not be?

The two saws mentioned not sure about. Any stats on them. Cc etc.

Who said the 201 wasn't to replace the 200. If it wasn't they would have called it the 150 :001_rolleyes::001_rolleyes:

But it still remains as a PRUNING saw. Not a wacking great cutting saw.

I've no idea on exact cc, spec etc, but the 550 replaced the 346 and the 560 replaced the 357 and chewed up both and spat them back out again.

So if the 201's a pruning saw, yet the 200 rips like a goodun, what's the point of the 201 if the 150 does the same job? :confused1:

Admittedly, my usage of a 200 is very limited, but have seen them in use a good amount and they always surprise me how well they cut for the size of them.
