Fransgard in my view and not worth that sort off money especially as it looks like you will need new cable unless you only plan on doing short pulls.

Fransgard tw3500 twin drum winch, heavy well made. The last two on ebay went for about £1000 each. I bought one myself earlier in the year and cannot fault it....

nice! ill see, that winch seems smaller than the few on ebay, lookin at the small one in somerset but he cant figure how to accept bids from ireland... he says.... if that fransgard i linked is up to occasional work after new cables and wont break my heart i will prob buy it..

looks like igland with those levers... but could be a fransguard both good winches, I own both makes, worth their weight no matter what the make. cables are not that expensive try farm sales or ex mod dealers for the cables.

eventually got back to me, fransgard 3000 apparently, hes fairly solid on price i may take a drive and see! im mainly at ash and spruce thinning at the moment, so i think that its the best size for the job..
