Hi Peter, I have been asking around for people's opinions on chip boxes/tippers for Ranger double cabs. Are you finding the load capabilities warrant the conversion costs? I have a TW150 and TT85 but wanted a compromise for smaller jobs so I could chip straight into back of pick up. My concern Is I would be full in no time. Is 1.5 m3 the absolute max? What does that equate to in average 6" chipping time? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Ps. I need the 4x4 for the yard, I would get stuck with a tranny.

Hi, honest opinion, I wouldnt be without mine now. You get about 2m3 with high sides on, I find thats enough for a decent sized reduction or a smallish takedown.

The other advantage to a smaller chip truck is its easier to give away small loads local to where your working, especially if you have 4x4 to get into the paddock.

Plus you can still chip into the trailer and put logs in the pickup on bigger jobs. (Or the other way round)

How much does your TT85 hold in cubic metres?

Hi Peter,

I have been really enjoying this thread, your work is fantastic and looks very well thought out.

Just a hypothetical question, and possibly something that someone may ask you to build if its an idea that works, could you apply your pro tipper concept with high sides like on the ifor tipper trailer, to a plant trailer?

I was shoveling a load of chip out of a mates plant trailer and it started me thinking, if only this trailer could tip it would be perfect!

Just an idea, but if it worked and you make and sell loads, and become the new ifor williams, can i have a free one with a french certificate of conformity as a royalty???

Keep up the great work and keep posting photos of your creations.

I severely regret allowing my wife to buy a Mini two years ago. I should have bought a pickup instead and had a Pro Tipper fitted.

I've never fancied the idea of having two useless Transit vans. Now I see I can have a useless Transit and a pickup that tips.

Adding to the shopping list.

Brilliant!
