Well the one on the top ive used similar in Sweden for winching some decent size spruce over with a static line for the rope,Never had any problems, obviously lighter then a Steel Tifor winch and cant do anywhere the same sort of work but for basic stuff fine i think.

Have used the top one, and they are fine for small stuff but not much cable length. If you can afford it get a lug all winch they are pricey but great winches mine was about £350. Another good winch for the money is a jet winch which is a copy of a turfir. I have had this for four years and has never let me down and has pulled some heavy timber, got mine from landmark trading. And don't forget some decent strops as well.

the listing dose not actully say what cable length it is!

can you extend it by any chance

Lugall for lightweight, take-anywhereness, Tirfor for heavy loads. Depends if you can drive your kit to site or have to 'lug' it a long distance I guess. Have used both Lugalls and Tirfor types (Habegger made mine). Both do the job.

Whats the intended application?

What sort of weight do you need to move, will you need to carry the winch far from the vehicle, how often will you use it etc.

I have a habegger 3 ton winch its the nuts, the Swiss army use em so can't be to bad. Oh had a tirfor before rate them both equally.

Does that mean yours has a corkscrew and a magnifying glass attached??? Missed out on my 1ton model :001_tongue:

There was a thread about a month ago about those wee winches. Look into it! Then get a real winch. Tirfor today pulled out some enormous Rhodie stumps in 5 minutes (including set-up time) that a guy had spent hours trying to dig up.
