I reduced 45' like that..........to 6" above the ground

 

 

Now , that's what I call a serious reduction,ive noticed a young tree will hack a serious reduction , an older one wont

I'm going by the fact that I have a 7ft Leylandii hedge in my back garden and the neighbours hacked back there side really hard and it regrew. Maybe it was a rare occurance.:confused1: But Yew's definitely do.

 

Might of been a Thuja, they do a bit. Leylandii does not grow from bare wood.

It didn't grow back from the old wood it must have had a bit of green left.

 

Yew grows back because it is a proper tree not some scummy interspecific hybrid

last weekend we reduced 20 leylandiis from 70 ft to 12 ft lovely looking job i am that proud of it i wont put it on my website we left all 20 off them like totem poles feckin horrible

There'll be ALOT of arisings, make sure you plan for them.

 

We've been doing them for years, and still get caught out :thumbdown:

 

It's for my friend's parents and they're happy to/have enough space for a massive bonfire :thumbup:
