If using 11mm i use the wrap over fully compress and let my hand allow payout. 11.7mm i'll just use my had to open up the cam. If im standing and need to paysome out just open it up, pull some slack and jobs a good un. Spoke to Ben about 30mins ago, he said it was pretty good.

I hold the rope just above the uni, and use the side of my hand to open the uni. It's sort of like cracking a lj from above. I take a bit of my weight/friction in my hand and it smooths the uni out a treat. It'll be a bit clunky until a) it has some wear and b) you get used to it and it's not the most terrifying experience of your life.

The pic shows my hand position for cracking it open:thumbup1:

Dan I did try that but it was hard to crack, I dont think I was applying enough friction with my hand. Descending was ok on full chat I could actualy control it, a perk of being light

Try to lift yourself off the uni a bit with your arm while you do it, that should work. I kind of pinch with my thumb and index finger, then spread the rest of my hand so it pushes on the top plate of the uni.

Just noticed in the pic of Ben, his gate is towards the rope. I'd avoid that as it can snag on the corners of the rope a bit and cause plucks etc
