time to reduce willow

client requires a willow to be rdeuced to the extent i would need to cut 4" limbs can this be done now without too much damage it is just in bud now thanks

You can do it now, if a storm broke branches off it would still grow back, but winter is best

If you cut Wilow to an inch off the ground it will sprout !

In some willows you only need an inch of cambium to start a new tree. Damn utilities arbs chipping crack willow under overheads! 😡

you hardly touched it! I know the 'tip it out" merchants will cry heresy but it's not a beech, You've taken off about 6 months growth.

I suppose as long as the client was happy....... but it's less bother to give it a proper trim.

Do it every two years.. They never want too much off. Good customers
