Funny you should say that - those few days were some of the most enjoyable on the council.

i have always thinned by % and reduced by either feet or meters , when it comes to reductions tho it all depends where a suitable growth point is , i have seen some reductions where the climber has left growth points the are less than 10% the size of of what has been cut off . what im trying to get at is that to work to bs standards and good arboricultaral practises you dont allways end up with an aesthically pleasing tree , but that is only my oppinion

It looks like Chris (one of my main climbers) is going to have to hang-up his chainsaw boots. He’s had continued back trouble for the last three years and has decided enough is enough. He’s done a side-ways move and is now inspecting play equipment here at the council.

 

It’ll be a real shame to lose him; he had natural talent and was a good laugh! Looks like the recruitment process will have to start all over again.

Just coming to the end of a highway contract, mainly re-pollarding Limes back to the original pollard points. This one was slightly more interesting – plenty of tea from the residents, which was nice.
