My Yamaha grizzly 550 does about 13mpg but that's mostly checking or moving sheep so it's constantly accelerating and at high speeds.

I could save a lot of fuel money with a diesel bike but wouldn't want to give up the speed and handling. :)

I run a Yamaha 450 Kodiak, drinks fuel in 4 wheel pulling heavy loads but is OK in 2 wheel on road. Because its agriculturally plated it gets a free tax disc every year, but wish I had opted for a diesel quad then I could use the cherry to my hearts content-now that to me is a saving- guzzler or not...Nick Pearson, Timberline-Roe Ltd.

Hi I have a Honda 500, if it's not working hard at a guess around 40 miles per gallon, but I don't really watch consumption that closely. If its working hard, on heavy muddy terrain, in 4wd, pulling a load, probably nearer 30. Petrol always seems to last longer than I think though.

Can't see it doing between 30 and 40 mpg

I run this 400 Kodiak towing a 1.3 ton chipper round the woods... you can see the petrol gage go down. The 450 road legal is not much better, the bigger tyres give a good grip off road.

Really, I can t believe the low figures yu lot are quoting either? The only time consumption reached low figures was when the tracking was out, and it dropped to about 25mpg. Mine is set up properly and regularly serviced, hell if it was returning those figures I wouldn't use it, it wouldn't be viable.
