You'd really have to want a MF135 to buy one! As already said their too much for what they are. Better off with a nash or a davi brown. 2k will get a clean one with loader and cab if thats what you want. BMC tractors are cheap and powerfull in comparison too.

LEYLAND 154 MINI TRACTOR | eBay

LEYLAND /NUFFIELD 344 | eBay

Leyland 262 Synchro tractor complete with quicke 2300E loader and bucket | eBay

These are good firewood tractors have a look.

I have two 135s so am perhaps a bit over sensitive to some of the sentiments expressed.

I fully accept that you will get much more for your money on something else but that is the whole point? 135 = Rock solid reliability, cheap to service and, most importantly, you are very likely to get more back than you paid for it. I really can't see the problem with this?

If it won't run to a 135 then I would suggest a DB996 as these are quickly becoming collectible for similar reasons. But if you are going to flog it into the ground the a zetor / leyland etc will do just fine

Here is our posh one (Originally a MF135 Industrial rescued from a cow shed in deepest wales) when it had just been restored.

Marko,

What a transformation! Great looking machine. I'm definitely looking for something needing work as my wee daughter very keen and loves doing anything on engines. She's 10 and can service her mum's car on her own!

PS secret safe with me!

Marko that is a stunner!! Very similar to the one I learnt to drive on, well not really, the one I drove had a yard scraper on the back, every panel bashed or rusted and the whole thing covered in cow sh*te! Ha Ha I'd give my 'left one' to own that!!

Our other 135 isn't half as glamorous. We have been through it mechanically but left the bodywork original. It has a forklift on the back and is a real workhorse. It was the first tractor the family ever bought new (we had a second hand grey fergie before) so I can't part with it.

As some others have said, other makes might give you better value for money, but if your planning on restoring it the massey will have loads of parts available at a reasonable price.

Other makes are getting more parts available all the time, but generally at a bit more cost.

The easier to get parts, the easier to restore tractor,=price of base tractor goes up.

I`ve got a mf135, its one of the most fuel efficent machines I`ve got. It took me about 10yrs to pull my finger out and restore it, once I had finished it, wished I had done it sooner.
