is that the same capacity as the one ive been using rich?

Don't know. Yours sounded heavier. The cm220 is 9 inch feed. And believe me it will take that aswell. Biggest we've had is connie through it. The stress control kicked in but by god did it suck it through.

A nice Isuzu engine in aswell. Runs perfectly and has never missed a beat. Exept when chipping dead connie the rad got blocked. The engine cut off and once we blew out the rads with the leaf blower and it cooled down we carried on.

I don't think I could ever use anything again. It's greenmech all the way for me. Plus they are easy to work on from changing blades to greasing them up. But I would say go for the round blades as you can get more hours form them. And they really do take some punishment.

Hahaha not mine mate. And I don't think the owner will sell it. You would have more luck getting blood from a stone. It's going no where.

Sorry bud. :thumbup1:

Be armed it is a lump and can't be moved by one person. It is heavy. But the one axle make it easier. I've always thought it to be a forestry machine due to its size. We sometimes struggle to get the tipper and the chipper on driveways.

But for that its an excellent machine

Unless you need a machine tomorrow, I'd take a few weeks and get as many of the firms to bring you a demo machine and see what you fancy and can afford. Don't write off the 750kg Jensen as being not up to the job especially as you have got an newer type of driving license. They all have their pro's and con's, you get what you pay for there's not a machine out there that is perfect.

we had issues with the 220 and its weight also.

Had to tow it behind the 4x4 as the tranny looked very sorry with it and a load on :blushing:

the bloke wants £4500.00 for this 220 so its not too expensive at that money, requires new exhaust, belts and blades but it loved leylandii even with mullered knives!

very true but what ive seen of a couple of the 750kg machines is that to meet the weight, they are shaving off the bigger sturdier bearings and shafts for these much lighter less robust fittings.

Ive been bitten by bearings and shafts 3times now totalling £2400.00 in 3 years

also we have put 900hrs on our machine in these 3years so its doing a fair amount of work, hence me thinking maybe i need a bigger chipper.

Thanks for all advice and im going to beg for as many demo machines as possible :thumbup1:
