I still run a hs 45 due to it being lighter than the 80 series. But this is the only real reason, the bigger models are obviously heavier duty and will last longer IMO

I've had a pair of these for 9yrs bought some hs80s but found them to heavy for prolonged use . The 45s are really light but will struggle on thicker stuff most reliable bit of kit I've had.

My Hs45 is 8 years old and never had a problem the only thing is they don't have very good anti vibration and shake a lot. Hs81 is better and smother for long term use.

I use mine alot for trimming mainly, They leave a superb finish on leylandii and privet as said anti vibration not that great but the new 56 is suppose to be alot better? I have bent the blades on one before trying to cut too bigger stuff but that was my fault not the cutter!

I love my HS 81T cuts everything. 3 years old and still going.

The T cuts a mean conifer hedge and eats through ivy too.

If it gets too heavy, stand back and pretend to look at the hedge and let the pain subside!
