Hi i'm looking at buying a "cheap" top handle saw i'm looking at an oleo mac or an efco 131 which would you guys buy ?

Years ago I had an Efco, absolute load of rubbish.

Go for an Echo.

I've had an Echo for a couple of years and hated it immensely, until I changed the 14" bar for a 12".

What a difference!

Good saw for the money.

get a good s/h stihl or husqvarna, always around and can get all the spares for years to come.

I had an oleo mac topper years ago as a pruning / back up saw.

 

It was fine, until I needed some spare parts.......

yes efco and oleo mac the same. i had there bigger saws had no problem with them last 10 years before they died heard the echo top handle is good. why not get a cordless no fuel ideal up a tree let go stop pull rigger they start no pulling to start. got to be the way forward up a tree.

On the italian version of arbtalk they seem to rate active 39.39 evolution over any other brand as the best top handle apart from stihl
