looking for a saw any suggestions

im looking for a saw do start doing some chainsaw carvings, well have a bit more of a go at it with. I brought a dime tip bar and chain but really want another saw to do the carving with to the one i have already for blocking out.

Any suggestions on saws that you can get a 1/4" sprocket or even any one selling one?????

Some guys i know are using ms170s with carving bars on, know bugger all about it to be honest but thought i would pass it on.

yeah i've looked at them but being at the lower end of the market i was thinking would it really last.

Dont see why not, some people use em instead of top handles in a tree. You need something light, powerful and easy to work with so i would say there ideal for carving small stuff.

 

and there cheap if you pack it in.

ms200 rear handle for animals etc, and husky 346xp for mushrooms seem to be the two main ones my mate uses, amongst the saws he owns.

Hi I use the ms170 for pruning work and most up tree work. at the moment it is being used by the new lad, who has dropped it, landed trees on it and generally given it a hard time and is still going strong so would recomomend it to any one, especially as it's cheap and light.

I use a Ms 180 with a dime tip and 1/4" sprocket for my carving,

we have another at work which is 4 years old and has taken a beating, only problem has been the oil feed.

use an 023 and 020(tut-tut) for finer stuff, and an 046 for basic shapes for seats ect
