Buzzards have increased by over 800% since they became protected, and for such a large bird they are pretty useless, we regularly have a pair feeding on worms and beetles where I keep my horse, the population seems to be on the up again, you need to see them off Jon before they scrump your apples! On another note, this time next week, only apple trees will remain in Somerset after Jon gets his 560!

A few years back we had 7 of them standing around in a small field. It looked very strange some sort of Buzzard convention to discus who's windscreen to crap on. Actually it was after rain and there were a lot of worms on the surface so presume that's what they were after.

We lost my sons bantam to the buzzard the other day we only knew it was the buzzard as it gorged itself and could not get its weight out of our chicken run we went to shut our birds in and it was flapping about in the bottom of our run getting cught in the electric fence just could not take off ,surrounded by our banties feathers !my 8 year old is going to be gutted in all the years we have kept chooks we have never lost any to the buzzards im guessing it was desperate with the cold weather for food we had to catch it and throw it into the air it only just manged to take off after its trauma from being shocked and a damn good meal no idea how long it had been trying to get out gorgeous birds though stil dont know how to tell my son :/
