560 XP is it just me?

It looks like saws have hit where cars were some 20 years ago when they had carbs and no ECU and then went to multipoint fuel injection and ECU.

In the old days there was a lot of fiddling with plugs, points, tappets and carbs - now that is a thing of the past and like it or not, the ECU takes care of most of these things without us getting involved.

The downside of the autotune is that you can't see what is happening in it without the software and field adjustments are not possible.

The upside is that ignition and carb settings are being adjusted all the time which means if your saw is about to bog, the saw will automatically adjust the ignition advance and carb mix to give the saw the best settings to stop it bogging down - it appears to work and all us tuners have on non autotune saws is a single setting to make an older saw as powerful and tractable as an autotune model.

With the EPA laws in the states, these autotune units will be a thing of the future!

I recently bought a 357xp and after using a 346xp I absolutely prefer the 357. The 357 is a heavier saw but it does make up for it with the extra power which also enables it to run effortlessly with an 18" bar. I would definitely recommend the 357 over the 346 but if you don't need the extra hp for a larger bar then the 346 is still a great saw! :thumbup1:

hodge what are you using the saw for and is it left sitting ticking over

I use it for felling, logging and general Tree surgery cutting, I don't leave it ticking over for long periods I turn it off. Then you come to start and its 12 pumps to get it going again.

I have had 2 357xp and didn't like them, the 346 XP is a far better saw in my opinion, running a 15" bar that is.

Why is it you didn't like the 357? I have a 15" bar at the minute but thinking of getting an 18" maybe 20". As it has the power to take up to a 24".

Could it be the 12 pumps where you are going wrong ? mine is one or none if its less than a minute or two ....

I found it lacked power, it does not rev out like a 346 XP and on a 15" bar the 346 is awesome. I run my 576 XP on a 20" and 372 on 28" and that's me covered for most stuff.

1 or 2 doesn't work, I was told off my husky dealer to do 10 or 12. I'm really gonna go and have it out with them. Shame husky don't have a rep on here like Timberwolf do, someone who can give definite answers.
