Ive tried a hitch climber with a pully and using fisherman's to tie the end of the friction cord. Once the knots been tied and put together on the rope its just to big IMO..

eh? i've used a hitchclimber with fisherman knots on the friction rope for the last few years with no problems.

the only difference i find between fishermans and spliced eyes is the price! £3 or £4 vs £15-20

Haven't tried a ZZ, looks fine.

Love my Sj and Lj and Positioner for that matter.

How often do you feel it necessary to untie and retie your prusik

during a climb?

Not being midline attachable is something to consider based on your work and

climbing style. For example if you climb with two ropes and go from one to the other

to progress.

Can you can get them in hand for a comparison.

Spider jack vs Zig zag

*Both will self tend ; sj little easier

*Sj = no sit back

*Zz = little sit back

*Sj has been properly tested with srt

*Zz still limited testing srt

*Sj = £168 (Velcro) £187 (dyneema)

*Zz = £178

*Sj = recommended change of cam 1 X year average. = £9

*Zz = nothing to replace

*Sj = leading different style to climb With e.g thumb control

*Zz = same hand control as standard prussik

*Sj = top speed in decent..... Free fall

* Zz = top speed in decent ..... Sufficiently quick enough to stain pants.

*Sj = time to get completely comfortable using around the tree on average .... 15-20 hrs

*Zz = time to get completely comfortable using around the tree on average 15-20 mins.

*Sj= weight must be sitting through device to lock

*Zz = locks easier

*Sj = can't be attached mid line

*Zz = can't be attached mid line

Result = own personal choice!

I myself was getting on great with spiderjack but being like a little kid playing with new shiny toy at the moment.....

Always worth giving them a call... Tell them when and where you got it from and see what happens :)

I think Justin would jus laugh at you considering they are selling like hot cakes for the price he sells them at even tho he isn't the cheapest. Sorry mate I just get frustrated when people say go f.r when there are plenty of other decent suppliers in the country, let people make there own mind up.
