I cant be much help then mate.. Other end of the country.. Ive got the sj and love it but im back on the hc at the moment! Decent hitch set up and its no diferent to the sj!

Ive tried a hitch climber with a pully and using fisherman's to tie the end of the friction cord. Once the knots been tied and put together on the rope its just to big IMO..

 

eh? i've used a hitchclimber with fisherman knots on the friction rope for the last few years with no problems.

the only difference i find between fishermans and spliced eyes is the price! £3 or £4 vs £15-20

I used to only buy eye ones but then when the last lot died I tried that cheap silver stuff with fishermans and its great!! And as you say cheap!!

Haven't tried a ZZ, looks fine.

Love my Sj and Lj and Positioner for that matter.

 

How often do you feel it necessary to untie and retie your prusik

during a climb?

Not being midline attachable is something to consider based on your work and

climbing style. For example if you climb with two ropes and go from one to the other

to progress.

Can you can get them in hand for a comparison.

ZZ arrived today for my offsider. He's already had a burn on it and it feels nice but I've no urgency to put the SJ back in the bag and buy one just yet.

I think Justin would jus laugh at you considering they are selling like hot cakes for the price he sells them at even tho he isn't the cheapest. Sorry mate I just get frustrated when people say go f.r when there are plenty of other decent suppliers in the country, let people make there own mind up.
