Lovely wood, the wave is great but, for me, the plastic inserts detract from the overall.

Was this cut on a bandsaw? It's a great idea for a piece.

 

Not plastic inserts but silver plated brass. I pleaded with the client to leave the brass unplated as I thought it looked lovely but they insisted on the silver plating as this was in conjunction with Mappin and Web and silver is their thing. Yes cut on bandsaw and cleaned up with plane and drum sander.

Thanks for clearing that up, it's amazing how photos can be so deceiving!

I agree unplated brass would compliment the wood really well.

Might have a go at this sometime, but think I might need a LOT more ability first.:laugh1:
