Looking forward to this, sounds like we could have a good crowd. If any one can arrange a suitable alternative venue please post some details on here so we can decide where to have it. Abbey St Bathans is still fine with me but I know its a bit far for some. As for dates how about we all keep the weekends of May 9-10 and May 16-17 free, If the weather is crap on the first one we'll go over to the other.

sounds good, from what i've found in the past through other ventures is people always pipe up but never do the leg work to back up their complaints.

next one i say should be in Edinburgh, somewhere central like teh meddows.

Hi Guys,

(Tom, are you in Abbey St Bathans? I used to live there and my dad was head forester for a while. small world.)

How about a suggestion of Drymen show to stage the scotland get together.?

its on saturday 30th May 2009

follow this link: http://www.drymenshow.com/

its a very well supported show as we were there last year and as you can see the weather was superb.

There are some big trees at the back of the arena which im sure we could utilise for a bit of climbing etc.

The infrastucture of the show would be there with events, BEER and FOOD already going on. a great day out for families too(that might get bored talking trees and climbing) .

Its location is at the foot of Loch Lomond so its easy to get to from all areas.

Im planning to ask the organisers if it would be viable.

what you reckon?? want me to ask?

Sounds ok, I'm not much into horses myself but if the trees are good then why not. Do you have any pictures of the trees there? If we post pictures of the trees and camping etc on each potential site it will help everyone to decide where to go. I'll try to put up some better ones of A St B.
