Could something or someone have prompted it? I,ve not heard of this before. Was there something in particular they were looking for or at. what questions did they ask?

checked all ppe ,matched serial numbers on climbing kit with loler cert kept in truck including rescue kit, asked our guy to run up saws and check chain-brake etc. the only thing that was a problem was when she arrived our guy was cutting with his visor up and he had the standard exhaust burn on his trousers:confused1:

had people pretend to.be from hse before. Ask for ID and call local office to check genuine.

Doesn't take much to get the hse out.... We had them crawling all over one of our sites for months after some tosser phoned to tell them we we were roofing with no edge protection. We weren't, but they weren't to know the call came from a mentalist.

And once they're there then they have to be meticulous in their checks to protect themselves..... Imagine how I would look if they just popped their head in and then by coincidence something happened after they left....?

Don't worry about it too much, just be safe!

This is happening a lot more often now. the HSE are now a private company so to speak as they have had all of their government funding withdrawn. basically they are now self funding organisation.

i have just had a visit on a building site, everything was in order other than the boiler was on the blink for 4 hours that one day so the lads had no running hot water. I'm still waiting for the report and the fine however i was told by the inspector that their fees are now £124 per hour and the average cost is £750 minimum.!!!

Just to be clear- if they find nothing wrong, you don't have to pay.

I'm assuming they ALWAYS find something wrong.
