Jobbing rate per hour

Seem to have a bit of hourly work coming my way at the moment , hedge reduction, small tree/scrub clearance and that sort of thing, nothing fancy and not the sort of jobs that would be easy to price.

Have been charging £15 per hour to include just basic tools and fuel.

Is that too cheap?

This part of the south west has never been known for great payers.

DORSET !!!! One of the most expensive areas to live/ property price wise, they'v all got loads of money, its just what they are telling you, but then I suppose having the expense of owning two houses has its draw backs :laugh1: £15 per hour is very very low, does that include basic insurance and basic equipment depreciation and basic PPE and basic transportation or do you catch the bus , Don't sell your self so cheap it should, even in poor little Dorset be £30 min per hour. OR more.:thumbup1:

I know what you mean. All got short arms and long pockets, best to avoid those sort, I'v now developed a sort of seventh sense, i can smell money and detect an idiot usually within the first few seconds of talking to them on the phone or meeting them. Its a god given gift :lol: At the end of the day if people want a quality service thats reliable, with fit for purpose equipment , backed up with a qualification they should know that its a service that wont be cheap . :thumbup1:

£22-25 per hour for that sort of work with basic tools for me. Everyone will have different views on this, but find a price that you and customer are happy with. Do not go in too cheap though mate, tools, insurance, fuel etc don't fall out the sky.

That sounds about right for round here;

I've never looked for hourly rate work but at the moment it seems to be coming my way and I would rather be working than not.

I've often noticed how customers squirm if you quoted around £25 per hour but seem happy to accept a price at £80 for the job that only took 2 hours to do.
