Seasoned Beech and Sycamore how much?

As per title, we have run out of seasoned wood and as such are trying to find some.

Been offered some 12 month seasoned beech and sycamore unfortunately around 75% beech and 25% sycamore would have preferred it the other way round for less weight and more timber.

Been offered it at £70/t ex yard with roughly £10 - £15t haulage so around £85/t delivered.

I think it's seriously expensive but need to ideally keep existing customers happy.

What's everyone's thoughts?

chris, what lenths is it in .

just done some birch, down 12mth, and wet as a babies nappies in the middle ,out of 60 loads ,20 still drying ,

Went to look at it a couple of weeks ago, cut a length in half split it down the middle and metered it at 30% wet enough to be honest would need a week or 2 in the barn once split to blow off!

But I know what you mean it's just not seasoning well this year with all rain at all.

Think it must make a diff where its grown etc.. I have several loads birch/ alder and oak that was cut last feb and been stacked pretty high in a 500 ton heap.. The birch is less than 20%, the alder just over and oak still 35+... It's not very big diameter mind.. Most around 10inch... Mixin small amount oak in loads but pulling most of it aside and will split for end this yr..

Taken plenty out and had repeat orders..
