True, it's a deterrent, but if you're not home at the time then the gun just becomes another item stolen.

shot with your own gun, i locked my door for the first time in 3 years on christmas eve, the wife went into labour. i rushed down the road to get some stuff, had locked myself out, so had to shoulder in an old door, off a ladder and climb over the washing machine:scared1:. when i used to live in my tin shack i guy once told me thieves would break in and leave me some furniture:001_smile:
