Too close to the house?

Here's my landlady's garden. The main problem with the ash is that it fills the gutters with leaves every autumn because its completely overhanging the house. The daughter said take it down. but being a bit of a closet treehugger I thought pollard it, but then having a closer look, I'm a bit concerned with just how close it is to the house (about 2 metres; I got my grumpy geese in there for scale). Its not the prettiest tree I've ever seen.... and we all have wood stoves.....

Thoughts?

fell it, pollarding will not get rid of the gutter problem as its just too close to the house.

Any tree that close to any structure will in time damage the foundation and the root system will start feeding off the septic or sewer line. Fire wood is the best suggestion after removal
