There was a discussion about older polluting vehicle and it was stated on the news that the german govt encourarges the perminant scrapping of older vehicles. To that effect you get a govt allowance of euro 2.5K towards the purchase of a new cleaner vehicle, if you trade in for perminant scrapping a vehicle more than 9 years old.

To me a 9 year old veh is new lol

I took the liberty to email my local politician (who i know had recently bought a new vehicle) and have already had a very hard cheese reply.

Wonder if it could be extended to chippers as well as mine is getting a tired. lol

Foot of snow in the garden of the job I was going to do today.

All the best

The big european car manufacturers like volkswagon and fiat have enormous lobbying power within the EU. They have been pushing the EU in this direction for years for obvious reasons. They fail to take into account the pollution produced in making a car of course. In fact I'd love to see the figures for total pollution for these two scenarios:

1) driving an old beatle / landy / mini and keeping it running for the last 30 years, Inefficient but just one car.

2) Replacing a car every 5 years with the latest most efficient model.

Lets assume the milage is the same for both.:001_smile:
