You may think you are getting a spark but 1 of 3 LED's will accurately indicate the condition of the ignition system; tests for Proper Voltage, High Voltage, Low Voltage, No Voltage without disconnecting wires. sounds impressive but it still wont show all ignition related problems... will it?

It could be a useful tool, but as you say it does not test the electrical system. All it does is measure the spark intensity.

It then dresses this information up by giving possible reasons for the results, which is fair enough for those who are not 'techies'

 

It is an inductive reader and the results could be effected by the HT lead thickness and shielding.

 

Could it be a useful tool for the average mans tool kit? YES.

Would a 'techie' use one? Probably not, far better to actually see the spark intensity IMO.

I'd have one of them! It does look useful, and I've wasted far more than £30 on a night out I've not enjoyed so much, or come home with blood dripping down me.
