put up a 6ft stock fence as normal, then 2rows barbed wire on the top of the stock netting.

Another row along the top of the posts, and a row or two on your side say halfway, 3quarters of the way up.

also when its up, get a large tub of ep2 grease and stir in plenty of dog poo.

paint the exterior of the fence and the post tops!

if the wire doesnt stop them,greasy poo under fingernails will, and the reason for mixing it with grease, it sticks uber well to people and clothing also doesnt wash off the fence in the rain!

Sea buckthorn, it has 2" thorns.

Our big old wood has a very old run down fence along the top and no fence down one side which joins a field which has just been bought by a 'community'. Apart from dancing around in the nud and swimming in the river, they have been seen carting logs out of our wood.

 

We have a plan to introduce pigs into the wood for finishing so need a decent fence for this but we may also need to keep humans out. Or should we jst go for some razorbacks instead and let them all in?

 

Not being funny but have you told them not to take logs from your wood? I know it's obvious to you but it may not be obvious to them.

 

As for keeping pigs in I would have thought stock fencing would be the cheapest option.
