yes man that is me there in the picture doing a 'stern stall' (balancing on the back of the boat).

 

what sort of boating you guys into??

 

i do a bit of river running and show boating (flat water freestyle) as there is a lack of decent holes/waves locally. so make do with the flat.

cool, I'm mainly into river running aswell but also do a bit of freestyle. Like to get on the sea whenever possible too. I've not been boating with PaulT in a while but as far as memory serves he does the same.

Used to do lots of white water kayaking and kayak polo is awesome used to do that every week. But ive had 3 very bad near death drownings so ive never got back in a kayak since the last one unfortunatly!

I have a go now and then, mostly when on holiday which is rare these days. Not the thrill stuff though. Another avenue I maybe should of pursued when I was younger.

Although this thread has got me realising how much i miss it watching vids on youtube now im on ebay looking at kayaks bad times! :blushing:

i teach with the local canoe club.

there is a lot of older people. that take it on.

you dont have to kill your self to have fun. everybody is different so everybody has different goals

 

i started when i was 14. i paddled a river in spate the other day, something i never used to bat an eye;id at then, and pretty much shat me self but had fun. something tells me i might be loosing me bottle!! :)

Looking to get into it myself when i get back to scotland,Just wondering where a good place to start and learn is?

 

Also what kinda money does a kayak and all the bits cost roughly?
