protech p10 post knocker?

hi everyone, protech p10 post knocker to fit on a 1.8 ton volvo minidigger, any body use one, whats the best and why?

Had one once, on a takeuchi tb016, its quite good but really you need someone on the ground so one can operate thedigger and the other can get the post ready and activate the chains on the postcap to raise it to get the post under, otherwise you end up getting out of the cab 2-3 times per post which becomes a bit of a faff. The best designs for diggers are the Vector ones where you just drop the postknocker over the top of the post and you can press down onto the post at the same time as hammering, Its alot quicker as you can do it all on your own without getting out of the cab, Hard to explain really but i have alot of experiance with small digger postknockers- I ended making one myself converted from a compact tractor but works in exactly the smae way as the vector ones.

hi thanks for the reply, what was the cost of your conversion if you dont mind me asking ? you obviously thought those on the market were lacking in certain areas if you built your own?

I use a p10 on my boxer i dont have to jump in and out of the cab

though . It is also compact enough to get it and 300 m of stock fencing on the trailer and box strainers .

Got one coming soon for a 1.5 tonner, with bottom mounted pin brackets for extra height. Will post some pics if anyone is interested.

i have one for my 1.6 tone jcb 8016 tbh its a little heavy for the machine on some jobs but bloody usefull though as said really a two man operation ! was bought for deer fencing job was around £1400 plus vaat for it and around £800 to pipe the machine as jcb parts are dear i did the fitting of it all myself

Anything is better than a sledgehammer! I have a Bryce HD 2, too heavy to put on a minidigger, but quite compact on the tractor for those tight / wooded / steep places. Only wish I'd specced a rockspike in hindsight. But, you can hire a fair few track machines with peccers for the 1700 extra a rockspike costs. The cup on a peccer is a good idea, you can switch over easyly for pecking holes in rock.
