I have the husky Li xp on trial, now I've been a naughty boy & put a fully charged battery in the freezer for 24hrs!

Thats cold!,hooked it out,& for 20 mins or so it flashed the red battery light when I pressed the charge indicator button, but sorted itself out & held the full charge through the ordeal.

Overall I an impressed with the little saw!

Nice, somebody testing to destruction! Stuff it through some trees over guide bar length!

Had ordered the back handle aswell so could carve quietly, but have posponed untill I see how this one performs. Bit wet today so going bl--dy shopping.

I was thinking that the backhandle would solve the West of Scotland weather problem by carving in my polytunnel. Just small 20 minute carves!!

Is the throttle response similar to a petrol or is it more like an on/off response Roni?

The chain speed is variable rather than on /off,not as infinately so as a petrol though.

Yep, and had the battery failed I would have paid to replace it,as they have them in stock.:001_smile:

I just wanted to be sure the thing would survive any frost likely here in the uk before I buy,& it passed that test!

I think it is a question on everyones mind, will the batteries survive cold,& hence worth the risk of having to replace it (at my cost in this case),now it has a weeks work to do.:thumbup1:

A British Standards test I had to do while testing double glazing involved dry ice and meths.

Glass beaker with meths in and add the dry ice. The beaker starts smoking like something out of frankenstein but the temperature in the beakers goes down to -70oC stick your battery in a couple of polybags (good ones)and if it survives you can use it in Siberia!!!

Remember PPE.
