i use welding gauntlets from tool station £3 a pair brill for blackthorn. as i lay hedges and blackthorn is the norm i find these very good not had a thorn go in them and for £3 can not go wrong. last a good time and once you have used them become easier to work in them. as for thorn beware keep a eye out and if it goes red go to doctor. blackthorn this time of year is nasty all the sap is rising so more potent than normal.

these welders gloves are cheap £3.50 in Browns agricultural supplies and last very well.

I swear by them for nasties

They're not smaller really. They're like lined welders' but better.

Dexterity is not much better though.

The welding ones I've got make me look like something out of Marvel comics! Big bright red and extra large.

 

I'll give them a try anyways.(think i'll opt for mediums!)

who cares what they look like! they are dirt cheap and do what you need them to do, stop the thorns!

knackered a pair of welding gloves in 3 day on the thorn hedge im laying at the moment while waiting for my Ripeur 2 gloves to turn up after rover speaking so highly about them .

been using them for nearly a week now very nice gloves they seem well worth the money and allot more thorn proof than welding gloves or any others ive used be even better if they had a slightly longer cuff but got two pairs so going to try extend the cuffs a little with cuffs off old welding gloves to give more wrist protection . so thanks rover for recomending then
