Ms460 vs ms461

Hi all,

I am looking to buy my first big chainsaw.

I was set on getting the MS460 from the Arb Show in June but now the Stihl 2013 catalogue is out I have discovered that the MS460 is being discontinued and being replaced by the MS461.

So my question is do i buy the MS460 now or wait until the summer as planned and settle for the MS461?

Does anyone have experience with the new MS461 is it better or worse because as stihl have shown before with the 201t, a newer model does not always mean a better model!

Please help me!

I don't think stihl would dare bring out a bad ms461 - surely they have learnt from the 201t balls up?!

It's supposed to be just as good/better at cutting, and with much better anti vibes (the only downside of the ms460), according to the american forums...

Can you do without a big saw for 6months+ is the question?

(the other alternative is getting a 576xp or 372xp) :vroam:

This is not a problem for REAL men... :001_tongue::thumbup::lol:

I love my 460. The 461 could well be even better though ....unless all stihl's are now being designed by accountants and europhile environmentalists with a boner for stuffing microchips into everything of course...which seems possible.... :001_huh:
