Yeah and I wounder how many people they asked actually use there land rovers rather than doing the school run or only getting them out in bad weather.....

It's like a saw. They have to be used and abused or they just don't last long. Or they have to be kept maintained.

Going from a Hilux to a Landrover will be a culture shock. Not so much if ever more a case of when and how often will it breakdown. Not trying to start any fights love my landrover and had many over 20 years just the way it is especially early td5 discos go for post 52 plate with plastic lights.

You need to get out of that cloud of B*llsh*t that your head is stuck in, I love Land Rovers but Toyota's are more reliable in the real world!

But more expensive to fix when they go wrong...... And not as nice to drive.

And more expensive to buy. Nor as good in the dirt.

So everything is relative.... :laugh1:

Each to their own - We have 2 - mine 102k problems so far new clutch slave cylinder. TOH's 70k problems so far - none! I'd call that reliable! Took head out of bullshit cloud and still say if its not a Land Rover it's not a real 4x4. Even Toyota know that! After all the Land Cruiser is the result of jap 'reverse engineering' on what? and so called to sound like what? You guessed it Land Rover!

So which is better, disco 4 or land cruiser?

Sent from my Galaxy S2

Cannot comment from experience but I would say disco 4 better than lc upto 56 plate. I would have a new shape Amazon rather than a disco 4 because the reliability on disco 3 was absolutely dreadful x10 and the disco 4 is shaping up to be the same. I would drive both before making the decision. But being a tight ass 10k is too much for a car so wont be buying either any time soon.

You have made me laugh tonight the thought that a discovery is even on the same planet comfort wise to an Amazon. And I should know I run both.

That's not eggs with eggs is it?

I thought prado was the disco equivalent, and they're hateful camels of things.

Amazon toes up to the range rover, and I know which i'd rather have...!

So would I Freelander ok to drive. Disco 3 and 4 very nice. Range Rover dreadful a right fat old ox that wanders all over the road and still has no boot space.

I would struggle to pick between a disco 4 and amazon if was not for the reliability problems. Range Rover = cigar smoking old farts car.
